Players 2-4
Playtime 30-60 mins
Suggested Age 14 and up

The first board game based on the original classic horror movie "Halloween". In this 1 vs. many game, most of the players will run around the board, searching through houses for useful items and for the kids - Tommy and Lindsey. They can win the game by either causing enough damage to Michael Myers, or by finding Tommy, Lindsey, and a set of car keys so they can escape to safety! Meanwhile, the player controlling Michael Myers will stalk them - and because he is only visible when someone is looking directly at him, he will be an ever-present danger throughout the game. The Myers player can win by killing enough characters, or by preventing the players from escaping for long enough. (If a player's character is killed, they lose anything they're carrying but will come on the board with a new character from the movie).

Low Quality Components

I wasn't expecting a great game - I was just hoping for something fun and thematic. But it's hard to get past how thin the cardboard punchouts are, or how flimsy the cards are. The game also comes with stickers with arrows for you to put on the player piece bases. I'm not a fan of games where you have to apply the stickers yourself. It makes a cheap game look even cheaper.

It's Okay. Simpler Than I Was Expecting

It's a rather simple hidden movement game. Fun enough to hit the table, but I feel like if the Myers player is aggressive, the victims don't really stand a chance since several of them can die in just one attack action from Myers and one character starts rather isolated and is almost always killed on turn 1 or 2. There's not a lot of penalties for Myers being revealed, especially early in the game. After the first murder, a hunter player can enter the board, so there's a little more incentive to be sneaky, but I've found that being aggressive usually pays off.

It bothers me so much that it doesn't have components for a 5th player, but there's 4 starting victims. You can easily add a 5th player by lowering the turn count by the same number of turns between the other two turn limits already on the board, and Myers just has to kill 3 players to win (since the 3rd death would have no character to replace the dead one). Played it twice that way and both games were incredibly close.

If you're looking for a more introductory hidden movement game, I'd say it's a good option. For me, I just find it too simple.

Perfect!

Just like the original movie, a classic! Game is easy to learn and so fun to play with family and friends. I highly recommend it.
