A painfully underrated card game with beautiful art, great character design and solid mechanics reminiscent of the TCGs like Lorcana and Magic the Gathering.
This expansion changes the game from a 1vs1 battle game to a solo or co-op boss battler similar to Aeon's End.
The preconstructed decks that come with the box are great to play with and require different approaches. Very satisfying and feels more thematic than Aeon's End 's generic market and card purchases.
The enemy turns are super quick,. getting you back to your cards and your turn right away.
Highly recommended for solo play.
I love this game. The theme is well implemented and progresses the story. If you like the animated story it is based on your will enjoy this game. The deckbuilding is good with options, and there is a good challenge. This game isn't the most challenging, but there is enough to manage it does require teamwork to win. Highly recommended if you like co-op deckbuilders and/or appreciate the theme.
An overland adventure reminiscent of the classic Runebound second edition.
Easy to learn rules (made even easier with a tutorial scenario) allow the focus to be on exploring the land and going on many quests, some that even link to others. Combat is quick and easy, characters level and gain loot giving that RPG lite feeling.
There is also a huge library of fan made mods and add-ons that take the game to a whole other level of detail and depth.
All in all, a perfect example of adventure gaming.
These are a great upgrade for Quacks and brings the game to life just a little more!! Great colours, good printing.
The thematic is immersive and adds lots to the game. Really reminded us of War Chest in a more storytelling way. The only thing we found difficult is recognizing the pieces. The choice of font makes V and Y difficult to distinguish, as well as the Forces being all the same colour. There isn't enough visual cues to recognizes the pieces quickly. This makes a two players game harder to visualize the board more quickly since the two forces looks the same at first glance. Lots of mistake are made because of it.
We still really enjoy the game, but for the pricing, we graphic design should do it's role of informing quickly.
