Anachrony is a medium-heavy strategy game of worker placement, engine building and time travel, set in a dystopian science-fiction world with a rich backstory.

In the wake of a devastating cataclysm threatening to repeat itself, players are rival leaders uniting the surviving humans in four ideological Paths struggling for survival and supremacy. Thanks to the recently discovered time travel technology, players may borrow resources and workforce from the future to improve their Path stronghold, construct Buildings and Superprojects, muster Exosuits, and prepare for the impending cataclysm. When it eventually happens, the well-prepared Paths can evacuate the collapsing World Capital - and when the dust settles, they may rise to take its place.

Anachrony is widely acclaimed by both reviewers and players. It received multiple Game of the Year nominations and is currently in the Top 70 on BGG with an average rating of 8.1. The game returns in 2019 with a new edition and a significantly lower MSRP, focusing on the core elements of the gameplay. Trickerion
is a competitive Euro-style strategy game set in a fictional world inspired by the late 19th century urban life and culture, spiced with a pinch of supernatural.

Players take on the roles of rival stage illusionists, each with their own strengths and characteristics. They are striving for fortune and fame in a competition hosted by a legendary magician, looking for a successor worthy of the mighty Trickerion Stone, which is fabled to grant supernatural power to its owner.

Using worker placement and simultaneous action selection mechanisms, the Illusionists and their teams of helpers — the Engineer, the Assistant, the Manager, and a handful of Apprentices – obtain blueprints and components for increasingly complex magic tricks, expand the team and set up performances by visiting the Downtown, Dark Alley, Market Row and Theater locations on the main game board depicting a late 19th century cityscape.

The tricks are stored and prepared on the Magician's own Workshop game board, while the performances themselves take place at the Theater in the form of a tile placement mini-game with lots of player interaction. The performances yield Fame points and Coins to their owners based on the tricks they consist of. Fame points have multiple uses, but they also serve as a win condition - After turn 7, when the last Performance card is revealed, the game ends and the illusionist with the most Fame points wins.

The game offers 48 different Tricks to be learned from the Optical, Spiritual, Mechanical and Escape categories, over 90 character abilities, and 48 Special Assignment cards that influence the actions taken at the various game locations. The base game can be expanded with two optional rule modules to add further strategic depth to the game.

The "Dark Alley" expansion included in the base game adds a new location to the game. It also comes with 48 new Special Assignment cards, a new tier of Tricks, and 27 Prophecy tokens that can alter certain game rules turn by turn, giving the game additional variety.

Since the Paths' Time Rifts powered up for the first time on the Day of Reminiscence, masses of people across New Earth have been seeing visions of a fifth Time Rift hovering over the eerie Ground Zero of the impact, waiting to be discovered. These visions also invoked an increasing sense of empathy and fellowship between these people — a bond much stronger than their Path affiliation. A mass exodus from the Path capitals took place over the course of the first Era, and the first pioneers discovered that the Time Rift in their visions not only exists, but it holds the foundations of a new civilization, one that may eventually set all people of New Earth down a new path - the Path of Unity.

Explorers from the Path of Unity soon discovered a secluded mountain valley where the enigmatic flora not only survived the impact, but it mutated and evolved by the asteroid’s toxic Neutronium dust. The resulting flower-like crystal formations synthesize a substance called Flux, which is collected and studied by the Harvesters, the valley’s mysterious inhabitants. The Harvesters are willing to share the secrets of the Flux technology with the Paths, but remain silent about its side effects, which only they are immune to...

In the alternate storyline of Fractures of Time, Anachrony’s first major expansion, the four original Paths and the newly formed, sanguine Path of Unity have gained access to a powerful new technology called Flux. Flux Cores can be acquired in the Amethynia Valley, the expansion’s new main zone. By using the Flux Cores to power up their Fracture device, players may move (“Blink”) one of their already placed Exosuits to a new action space instead of placing a new one, or immediately retrieve some of their Workers or Free Action markers. This can result in never-before-seen action efficiency, but just like the Time Rifts, the Flux technology is a double-edged sword. Without a sufficiently advanced Fracture device, overusing it can cause Temporal Glitches; hectic negative effects such as shutting down the Exosuit bay slots, temporarily disabling buildings, or making players more prone to Anomalies.

The Valley holds other secrets as well. The Harvesters’ advanced technology allows players to remove the Temporal Glitches, upgrade their classic Path tech with new quirks, and even enlist the Harvesters themselves as a powerful new class of Workers, who are immune to the Flux’s side effects.

Dawn of Technology contains two modules for Trickerion: the Contraptions, and the Signature Tricks.

Thanks to Magoria's recent technological achievements, Magicians can now enhance their Workshops with up to four Contraptions, unique to their magic school. Contraptions can be assembled as a Workshop Action, for the cost of 1 Coin per Contraption already in place. They can be used any time during a player's turn by turning them to their inactive side, and receiving a bonus based on the player's Magic school - in the above example, the Mechanical Contraption, the Generator, supplies the city with electricity, netting its owner a steady income of Coins.

Each Contraption has a more powerful effect than the one below it. At the end of a round, each Contraption with enough Shards next to it can be reactivated and used again next turn - this follows the similar principle as the Magician Powers module (which is playable with Contraptions). The highest-level Contraptions are so breathtaking that simply reactivating them will earn you some Fame!

The Contraptions module includes 16 Contraptions with 4 unique illustrations, printed on 3mm blackcore cardboard, and 4 board extensions.

When you learn a Trick from your own school, you may choose to learn your Signature Trick instead (if you meet its Fame threshold). Each Signature Trick “upgrades” a Trick from the original set: for example, Professor Bernard can learn his Legendary Shark Tank signature trick instead of the “ordinary” Water Tank Escape. If a Signature Trick is learned, the standard version is removed from the deck. And if an opponent already learned its standard version, your Signature Trick no longer has a Fame Threshold!

Signature Tricks have the same component requirements as their standard version, but they also require Contraptions to function: the higher their Fame threshold, the more Contraptions you have to use when you prepare them. However, in return, not only do these Tricks have better numbers (higher Yield, more Trick Markers, etc.), but they also have a special power: for example, The Legendary Shark Tank’s Trick markers can be aligned freely in the Theater, meaning that you’ll always be able to create Links with it.

This expansion is contained in the Collector's edition and will also be available by itself, at least from the publisher's website.

Command mighty Exosuits, traverse Time Rifts and lead your Path through a cataclysmic future in this epic board game for 2-4 players. The Essential Edition of Anachrony includes only the base game and does not include any other modules, expansions or miniatures. 

It is the late 26th century. Earth is recovering from a catastrophic explosion that exterminated the majority of the population centuries ago and made most of the surface uninhabitable due to unearthly weather conditions. The surviving humans organized along four radically different ideologies, called Paths, to rebuild the world as they see fit: Harmony, Dominance, Progress, and Salvation. Followers of the four Paths live in a fragile peace, but in almost complete isolation next to each other. Their only meeting point is the last major city on Earth, now just known as the Capital.

By powering up the mysterious Time Rifts that opened in the wake of the cataclysm, each Path is able to reach back to specific moments in their past. Doing so can greatly speed up their progress, but too much meddling may endanger the time-space continuum. But progress is more important than ever before: if the mysterious message arriving through the Time Rift is to be believed, an even more terrible cataclysm is looming on the horizon: an asteroid bearing the mysterious substance called Neutronium is heading towards Earth. Even stranger, the scientists show that the energy signature of the asteroid matches the explosion centuries ago...

Anachrony features a unique two-tiered worker placement system. To travel to the Capital or venture out to the devastated areas for resources, players need not only various Specialists (Engineers, Scientists, Administrators, and Geniuses) but also Exosuits to protect and enhance them — and both are in short supply.

The game is played in 4-7 turns, depending on the time when the looming cataclysm occurs (unless, of course, it is averted!). The elapsed turns are measured on a dynamic Timeline. By powering up the Time Rifts, players can reach back to earlier turns to supply their past "self" with resources. Each Path has a vastly different objective that rewards it with a massive amount of Victory Points when achieved. The Paths' settlements will survive the impact, but the Capital will not. Whichever Path manages to collect most points will be the new seat for the Capital, thus the most important force left on the planet...

Expansion for Cerebria: The Inside World

As Bliss and Gloom struggle for control of the Inside World, a new force enters the fray. Neither judge nor spectator, Balance is an active participant, striving to ensure that no side achieves dominance. Both Bliss and Gloom are important for the health of Cerebria, and Balance seeks a way for them to coexist in harmony.

The Forces of Balance expansion extends the world of Cerebria by adding a third side to the game with two new Spirits; unpredictable Intuition and wise Reason. The Balance game mode makes it possible for six players to play at once, and it also works for fewer numbers of players.

The Balance side has also some new mechanics. Their Emotions, the way they Invoke Emotions, gain Essence or Fortify are all uniquely tied to the playstyle of Balance.

Balance players have their own method to gather final scores during the game. They do not compete for the Common Aspiration. Instead, they have a Hidden Aspiration with two equivalent conditions. Just like Bliss and Gloom, Balance wins by having the most points at the end of the game from Identity Fragments and the Wheel of Intentions.

  • Origin is the infinite source of all that creates Cerebria, the Inside World. Yet nothing can exist forever unnamed and untamed, two opposing forces emerged in Cerebria: Bliss and Gloom, the Shapers, locked in eternal struggle to form the land to their own image. The agents of the Shapers are the Spirits, powerful entities who use the energies of Willpower, provided by Origin. The Spirits invoke Emotions inhabiting Cerebria in their service to gain power over the Five Realms: the Valley of Motives, the Willow of Values, the Network of Thoughts, the Cradle of Senses, and the Land of Desires.

    By increasing their influence over the land, Bliss and Gloom build the Identity, leading it through stages of Revelations. Cerebria is in constant flux, only during a Revelation can the Spirits leave a permanent Fragment on the Identity, an unchangeable mark of Bliss or Gloom. Which side will dominate the Identity, who will establish final control over the Inside World?

    Leave the Outside World behind, submerge into Cerebria and shape the future of the Inside World in a 2-4 player area-control team game Cerebria: The Inside World. Assume the role of Cerebria's Spirits associated with either Bliss or Gloom, and invoke Emotion cards with various intensities and abilities to occupy important areas on the main board.

    The Spirits can perform multiple actions in their turns, such as moving around Cerebria’s Realms, invoking, empowering and quelling Emotions. The main source of their actions is Willpower, gained primarily from Origin’s Spheres during each Spirit’s Meditation, the other one is Fortitude, determining the number of actions they can take. The Spirits use Essence to sustain the Emotions and eventually upgrade some of them to their more powerful alternatives with new, potent abilities.

    The aim of these actions is to build the Identity over the course of the game. The Identity consists of multiple Fragments, belonging to either Bliss or Gloom. These Fragments are added during events called Revelations, and represent the state of the Inside World at the time of that Revelation. These are key moments in the game: Cerebria’s state is in constant flux, but the Fragments are permanent imprints of a game state during a Revelation.


    The game is won by the side with more influence over the fully grown Identity, thus becoming the dominant force in Cerebria.
