GobbleStones is a tile-laying game in which players are hungry little goblins who love to eat stones. During play, you gobble up the most valuable stones across the board, and in the end the fattest goblin wins. It's CRUNCH time!!!

In more detail, players set up the game board by laying nine game boards in a 3x3 square; each game board features 25 spaces on it in a 5x5 array, and each space has both a color (one of five) and a number (one of six). Thus, you'll have a game board that measures 15 spaces on each side.

Players start with several 1x1 tiles, with each tile being one of the five colors. On a turn, you take exactly five actions, first playing 0-5 tiles, then drawing 5-0 tiles, e.g., playing three tiles, then drawing two. You play tiles onto the game board akin to playing words inScrabble, with you covering the appropriate colors with your tiles as a single word and scoring the numbers that you cover. One tile-laying restriction: You can't place tiles so that a 2x2 area of the game board is covered.

It's not like being great where you can get better. Or terrible, where you can get worse. There's a definite ceiling when it comes to mediocrity and we have reached it."

• Los Angeles Leopards - The Leopards enter the league with the 17th ranked running game and the 21st ranked passing game. Despite a questionable offense, the Leopards have the 4th ranked defense. Coach Anthony Detiger states, "Our defense wins games. They’re… pretty good! That's our motto. Points are way overrated." Defensive Lineman Oswald Matung had this to say: "We're gonna shake 'em and bake 'em and earthquake 'em! We're gonna rip 'em and crack 'em and heart attack 'em! That's the plan, anyway."

• Oklahoma City Ogres - The Ogres enter the league with the 3rd ranked running game and the 8th ranked passing game. Sadly, despite a top shelf offense, their defense stands at 24th in the rankings. Coach Jim Locher states, "I won't say we have the worst defense in the league. I'll leave that up to you guys." As mentioned, the Ogres do have a phenomenal running game, led by running back Izzy Foreel. Foreel stated, "When you got a runner like me you don't need no defense no how."

• San Antonio Scorpions - The Scorpions enter the league with the 13th ranked running game and the 11th ranked passing game. The Scorpions have the 14th ranked defense. Coach Sal Minella states, "We don't believe in putting our eggs in one basket. We prefer to spread the eggs around. Anywhere you look on our team you're gonna find an egg. I like eggs. I like 'em scrambled." Quarterback Juan Fordemonay had this to say: "You didn't talk to Coach did ya? I don't know what Coach is talking about."

• Portland Pounders - The Pounders enter the league with the 6th ranked running game and the 4th ranked passing game. Despite a great offense, the Pounders have the 21st ranked defense. Coach Joe King states, "We're very proud of our solid offense. Those boys put in a lot of hours and they're ready to take the field and put points on the board. We love our defense too, but we're not proud of them." Quarterback Jack Ammer had this to say: "We pound you, see? That's why we're the Pounders. It's not like the unit of weight thing. Pound like da verb. Not da noun."

• Salt Lake City Shakers - The Shakers enter the league with the 4th ranked running game and the 7th ranked passing game. Despite a great offense, the Shakers have the 22nd ranked defense. Coach Harris Gray states, "It's all about clock control for us. As long as we have the ball, they can't score." Quarterback Bruce Sezesley had this to say: "We're looking forward to winning a lot of games in the RFL this year. Losing -- not so much."

• St. Paul Paladins - The Paladins enter the league with the 18th ranked running game and the 22nd ranked passing game. Despite troubles on offense, the Paladins have the #1 ranked defense in the league. Coach Gus Undheit states, "Our defense is key to our success. We have trouble running the ball. We have trouble passing the ball. Sometimes we can't even find the ball. But bless us, our defense keeps us in the game." When asked about the lukewarm passing attack, Quarterback Stan Downwind had this to say: "I strive not to be the worst that I can be. That's how I live my life and how I play my game."

Despite an incredible offense, the Locusts have one of the lowest ranked defenses in the league. Coach Paul Ishtoff states, "Our team puts points on the board. Period. You can't stop us on the ground or in the air. Unfortunately, our defense bugs me." Quarterback Rick O’Shea, the mastermind behind their brilliant passing game, had this to say: "We have a very simple formula for success. Our offense only has to put more points on the board than our defense gives away. Then it's all gravy!"

• Milwaukee Monsters – The Monsters enter the league with the 15th ranked running game and the 6th ranked passing game. Despite less-than-stellar talent in running, the Monsters have one of the best passing games in the league. Coach Frankie Stein states, "We definitely need to work on our ground game, but when the Monsters put the ball in the air, we are scary." Quarterback Wolfgang Mann could not be reached for comment. When asked about this, wide receiver Billy Phantom replied, "Yea, sometimes he disappears for days at a time. By the way, did you see that moon last night? Beautiful!"

• Springfield Spartans – The Spartans enter the league with the 23rd ranked running game and the 15th ranked passing game. Despite troubles on offense, the Spartans have the #3 ranked defense in the league. Coach Colin Toksho states, "We rely on our defense to get us out of trouble. Unfortunately, we're usually in trouble." When asked about the lukewarm running attack, running back Jackie Mollasses commented, "I may not be the fastest runner in the league… what was the question?"

• Savannah Savages - The Savages enter the league with the 24th ranked running game and the 12th ranked passing game. Despite a weak offense, the Savages have a top ten defense. Coach Brock Lee states, "I get a little steamed at times, but really, we’re not as green as we look". Defensive Lineman Terry Heddoff commented: "Grrr! Arrgh! Grrr! ".

• Virginia Beach Valiants - The Valiants enter the league with the 19th ranked running game and the 2nd ranked passing game. In addition to their one-dimensional offense, the Valiants have lower than average defense. Coach Bjorn Toulouse states, "Our offense likes to put the ball in the air. Less fumbles that way." Quarterback Orin Julius commented: "Passing is like punting. Except we get to keep the ball. Mostly."

Coach Frank Merrill states, "We’re going to put up a heckuva fight this year. We don’t have much support in the air department so you’ll see a lot of emphasis on the ground game." Star running back Hugh Mungus commented: "Just give me the ball. I’ll find a way through the lines. "

• Newark Nighthawks - The Nighthawks enter the league with the 21st ranked running game and the 18th ranked passing game. Despite a weak offense, the Nighthawks have the #2 defense. Coach Mack Aroni states, "Sometimes I get a little cheesed off at our half baked offense, but our defense? Boy are deze guys good. No meatballs on that squad." Defensive end Bubba Ganooj commented: "We can take whatever the opposition dishes out. I’ll mash up anybody who gets in my way."

• Rochester Rockets - The Rockets enter the league with the 20th ranked running game and the 3rd ranked passing game. Despite an uneven offense, the Rockets do have a top ten defense. Coach Red Glare states, "We have a really explosive passing game. Our new quarterback can really launch it." Quarterback Rocco Gibralter commented: "Thanks to me and my arm, we have a pretty solid offense this year. I pretty much stay in the pocket and fire."

• Columbus Cobras – The Cobras enter the league with the 10th-ranked running game and the 16th-ranked passing game. Not only do the Cobras enter the league with a top-ten running game, their defense stands at 9th in the rankings and is one of the most consistent. Coach Bobby "Bam" Boozell states, "I'm so proud of our defense. That's a tough group of young men. They may not be the best out there, but we rarely have any surprises." As mentioned, the Cobras have a top tier running game, led by running back, Cole Kutz. Mr. Kutz had not released a statement by press time. Rumors report that he was out looking for a sandwich endorsement.

• Scranton Scorchers – The Scorchers enter the league with the 7th-ranked running game and the 19th-ranked passing game. Despite an inconsistent offense, the Scorchers have a top eleven defense. Coach Gus Tufwin states, "Right now I'm afraid our passing game blows. But our defense comes in like a hurricane, so hold on to your hats!" Wide Receiver Buddy Fingers commented: "Coach makes a lot of noise about our passing problems, but I'm quick as lightning, man, fast as the wind. I just have a problem holding on to the ball sometimes."

• Toronto Thunder – The Thunder enter the league with the 17th-ranked running game and a bottom ranked passing game. Despite a weak offense, the Thunder have a top ten defense. Coach Hammond Ecks states, "We're going to hatch some surprise plays that should have the other teams scrambling to catch us." Quarterback Cuba Sugar commented: "I got the sweet moves, baby, but I'm not afraid to hang out there and take a lump or two myself."

Yardage gained or lost is determined by a roll of the dice, and strategic play-calling makes all the difference as to which dice you get to roll for each play. The right offensive play might gain you a lot of yardage – unless the defense sets up correctly to stop it. After that, it all comes down to the roll of the dice...

Pluckin' Pairs embodies the same spirit as the classic party game Compatibility in that you want to match images with other players in order to score points, but the game play is more free form with everyone competing individually instead of in teams.

At the start of a round, eleven images are laid out on the table. All players secretly pair off images – say, coins and a manhole cover because they're both round, or a mirror and a building because they both reflect light – and write these pairs on their player sheet. One image will be leftover as the outcast.

After everyone has finished, you compare your pairs with those of other players. If no one – or conversely if everyone – created the same pair as you, you score no points for that pair. If only some of the players created that pair, each of those players scores as many points as the number of players who record the pair. (You can optionally compare outcast images as well, scoring points based on who had the same outcast as you.) The player with the most points after a certain number of rounds wins.

In Piñata, the players compete to collect the colored candy inside the piñatas. Playing pieces that might otherwise be "cubes" are instead wooden markers with a bow-tie shape that mimics the shape of wrapped candies, coming in five different colors. When a player has collected enough candy of a given color, he earns the medal card for that color, and the first player to earn three medal cards wins!

The players play their cards next to several mats on the table. Players usually play their cards on their side of the mats, but they may sometimes play on their opponent's side, a move that can ruin their opponent's plans.

Piñata reimplements Balloon Cup – while adopting the designer's initial theme for the game – with the most significant rule changes being the addition of wild cards, the removal of a three-for-one token exchange, and a revision of the card values (but not the card count within each color).
