The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The rules and boards act as a lid on top of the trays.

The full colour print really brings the trays to life, tying them in with the theme of the game and making it easier to see which components go where.

The trays are arranged in up to three layers, and unusually for a Folded Space insert the main game board and factory boards go underneath some of the trays. Note that there is no tray for the mayor and advisor card decks. These are instead placed vertically in a gap between the trays, and the gap is large enough for all cards to be sleeved.

Every tray includes images from the rulebook or game cards and boards.

The images greatly improve the look of the trays, but also help in game clear up as you can instantly see what goes where.

When packing the box, first place the district tiles in three stacks to form a single arc, with the mega-machine token in the top corner. Next add mega-machine boards and window operation tiles on top. Lastly place the rule book and player aids on top of the everything. Note that there is space for two different language rule books and player aids. This fully fills the box without any lid lift and allows for vertical storage of the game.
