Gorgeous art and good gameplay

Great family weight game, the main negative for the game is that the insert does not support sleeved cards or have any extra space. Now that there are two expansions, one released and one upcoming, means that you can't fit everything together and will have to carry around 3 boxes to play with all of the Parks content.

If you like Tokaido....

When I play Parks, the gameplay feels a lot like playing Tokaido with a slightly different theme. Plays better with the Nightfall Expansion, that is worth picking up in addition to the game. The game is fine to play on its own, but it seems like the Nightfall Expansion fixes a couple of minor issues that make the game easier to play again and again. A lighter game, great for families and casual gamers..

Great Looking game and Easy to Learn

Very attractive game with a great table presence. It's easy to learn and plays in about 45 min. Great for family game nights. Now hoping for a Canadian expansion.

Amazing with a few nitpicks which are resolved with the upcoming expansion.

Disclaimer: I've only played at 2. The year (goal) cards of the base game are not rewarding enough. Your final score will only be impacted by up to 3 points. Those 3 points seem as though they will always be more efficiently gained by visiting a low level park or taking 3 pictures while in control of the camera. The other issue is that there is no way to refresh the 3 gear cards on offer. This can cause an important mechanic to go unused due to stale gear which nobody wants or create a needless gamble by settling for an undesired gear hoping its empty spot is filled (and continues to be filled) with a better one. PARKS: Nightfall seeks to resolve both of these quibbles. It brings new year (goal) cards that completely replace the old which all incrementally award points with no cap. You can even gain more than the one over the course of the game which will add even more end game scoring variability. There's also a new campfire action which allows the trade of 2 sun to both reset the gear offer and keep one gear, too! Knowing these key quality of life improvements aren't available until PARKS is combined with PARKS: Nightfall means I can't rate the base game any higher than 4 in good conscience. It is most definitely otherwise worthy of a 5.
